Michelle always knew she wanted to be a lawyer as she has a very strong sense of justice and fairness. Her favourite programme growing up was Kavanagh QC and so she was determined to become a criminal barrister. Michelle obtained a LLB Law degree from the University of Sussex, but then decided to study the Legal Practice Course and become a solicitor so that she could be involved in, and influence, cases from the start, rather than waiting for them to reach the Court room.
Having qualified as a solicitor in 2009, Michelle has practised criminal law for many years, and has more recently moved into specialising in employment law. She obtained her Police Station and Court Duty Accreditations in 2010, and in 2012 became a qualified Solicitor Advocate, which allowed her to represent clients in the Crown Court, Court of Appeal and above.
A keen advocate, Michelle has spent many years representing clients in the Magistrates Court, fighting for what is right for her clients. Michelle really enjoys the variety of work that employment law offers and finds it particularly interesting to be able to advise on both sides, for employers and employees on all areas of employment law. Michelle finds the ever-changing landscape of employment law stimulating, each day is different, and her passion for finding the best outcome for her clients makes this the perfect job for her.
In addition to her day-to-day role, she has always played a pivotal role in the business development and marketing of her firm’s services. Michelle loves to meet new people and enjoys being involved in all the local networking groups.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys walking in the countryside with her family and two dogs, along with going to the theatre in London. She loves interior design, so will often be renovating property!
